The best alternative to the Honda Vezel is the Haval Jolion HEV.

The Honda Vezel is really a solid car, especially inside. It comes with plush leather on the dashboard, fully electric seats featuring digital climate control, and four airbags. It was pretty much the perfect package up until 2022. But then customs duties on imported cars shot up, and the rest is history.

Today, you’d be looking at around 1.3 Crore PKR for a 2021 Vezel with 20-30k km on it. If you think that’s reasonable, well, you’re either loaded or a die-hard Honda fan.

But here’s a smarter move: consider the Haval Jolion HEV instead. It offers more features than the Vezel, costs 20 lacs less, and comes brand new with full warranty support from a 3s dealership.

And when it comes to build quality, unless you have a thing against Chinese brands, the Jolion HEV’s build quality is top-notch and even better than Honda’s.

The best alternative to the Honda Vezel is the Toyota Corolla Cross HEV.

The Prius is globally renowned as the ultimate hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), celebrated for its exceptional reliability and fuel efficiency. However, in Pakistan, acquiring a 2020-2021 model could set you back at least 1.15 crore PKR, with 10-30k km on the odometer. Many would argue that spending such a sum on a used Toyota sedan simply doesn’t add up financially.

Instead, consider the Toyota Corolla Cross as a viable alternative. It’s classified as a crossover, offering superior trunk space and a more expansive cabin compared to the Prius. Moreover, since it’s also a Toyota and shares the same platform, its reliability matches that of the Prius. What’s more, buying the Corolla Cross means you’ll be getting a brand-new vehicle with a comprehensive 10-year official warranty and support from Toyota Indus Motors. This warranty coverage significantly enhances the value proposition of choosing the Corolla Cross over a used Prius.

Daihatsu Mira 

The best alternative to Daihatsu Mira is Suzuki Alto AGS.

The 2019-20 model of the Mira is priced around 30-32 lacs PKR, offering excellent hi-tech features and solid build quality for 3 million PKR. Despite these positives, its 660cc engine may seem underpowered, and the cabin space isn’t particularly spacious.

In the local market, alternatives like the Alsvin or the Cultus AGS provide significantly better cabin space and larger engines. If you’re still inclined towards a 660cc Kei car due to its fuel efficiency, the Suzuki Alto AGS is a compelling option. It’s brand new and much more affordable than imported Kei cars.

While the build quality of the PKDM (Pakistani Domestic Market) Alto AGS may not match that of imported models, choosing it makes solid financial sense overall.

Toyota Vitz

The best alternative to Toyota Vitz is Swift GL (CVT).

The Toyota Vitz, a 1,000cc JDM hatchback, commands a price range of approximately 43-45 lacs PKR for a used 2018-19 model. However, its features may not impress everyone—it typically comes with fabric seats, manual AC controls, lacks an RPM meter, and does not include multimedia steering controls.

In comparison, the Swift GL CVT emerges as a superior choice. While it may be slightly pricier than the Vitz, the Swift offers a compelling overall package. You benefit from full support and service from Suzuki’s 3s dealership network, which enhances peace of mind regarding maintenance and repairs. Therefore, despite its higher cost, the Swift GL CVT provides better value and modern amenities compared to the Vitz.
